Based on what we have heard from participants, we are excited to announce that starting March 13 we’ll be playing at Father Lacombe High School in the southeast community of Radisson Heights.

This school accommodates 6 courts of play for the remainder of the season except for two days where we will play in the auxiliary gym (3 courts). This will allow us to host skill clinics at the beginning of the regular badminton sessions for those interested. We are also getting an extra day than originally booked at Stanley Jones.

Apollo Badminton will donate to the school’s badminton club at $5 per attendee for the use of the space. So come on out and support the growth of badminton for our youths!

Details will be posted in March.

 

We have been offered a bigger venue (6 courts) at Father Lacombe High School —
3615 Radcliffe Drive SE (near 36th Street and Memorial SE) between March and May. This is a less central location than Stanley Jones. But with the bigger venue we’ll be able to host skill clinics and have less wait time for a court. The fee structure and time slot will remain the same.

Just a friendly reminder that including this Tuesday, there are 15 sessions left this season.

Unless you plan to share it with someone else, it means this will be the last Tuesday to purchase an individual Pack-15 package.

Pre-pay packages are good to the end of May, transferable and shareable

• Pack 5 – $38 ($2 savings)
• Pack 10 – $70 ($10 savings)
• Pack 15 – $90 ($30 savings)

We will take a three-week break during the holiday season. Regular badminton sessions will resume on Tuesday, 16 January 2018. We’ll be playing at Stanley Jones School in Renfrew, NE for 18 weeks till the end of May.

As always, our pre-pay packages are shareable, transferable, and valid for the entire season as part of your new year resolution of staying healthy and active. Receipt is available for corporate health spending account upon request.

We are somewhat thrilled to have secured an anchor venue for the winter/spring months. Awaiting for us between January 16 and the end of May are 18 weeks of badminton action!

We are fortunate that our venue — Stanley Jones School — is in the Inner City NE neighbourhood of Renfrew, which is even closer to downtown.  We are, however, lukewarm towards this historic school because it contains only three badminton courts. Also we have been denied use of the school badminton nets. The silver lining is that this venue is available consistently for four and a half months except for 2 weeks of spring break.

Rest assure that Apollo Badminton owns a set of nets, and we are currently seeking an alternative venue for the latter months of the semester. We will also look into hosting more discount events and free days to compensate for the smaller venue.
